Question as we know the gas canisters in this type stove can overheat and explode is this a safe set up. I ask as I use a suitcase stove and have always followed the pan not overhanging the gas canister.

I use that oven, I wouldn't go anywhere near those stoves, don't like them, don't think they're safe. I have 2 coleman 424s and an induction hob. I use them according to wether the grandkids are with us

My friends reckon I should be certified anyway. And they should know!!
Well Oldham, I suspect it's a case of whether or not the oven fits entirely on the not overly generous sized pan supports and does NOT overhang the gas canister chamber. If it fits clear of the gas chamber, don't really see any difference to say a frying pan which will be hotter than a pan of water.
Well aware of the risks of those suitcase type stoves, and seen first hand what happens when they burst into flame! Used them myself for a number of years without incident, and judging by the sheer numbers on sale and popularity on camp sites, I'm guessing the disastrous accidents are relatively few and far between when scaled to the numbers in use.
I feel the suitcase type stoves are probable safer than many of the single burner over canister types that always seem horribly top heavy/unstable to me, if the thing falls over there's a risk of liquid LPG getting into the burner and a fireball erupting, the suitcase types at least don't have that risk!
Agree with both HartfordXXL and Monty 15 both pieces of kit have their uses not necessarily together.

Seriously, I wouldn't use that on a suitcase stove, with it extending over the cannister compartment.
We've used Campingaz suitcase stoves for decades without a problem, nowadays as a back-up and to make coffee en route with a Bialetti pot, but always mindful of the diameter of the pan for safety reasons.
