Hi all

I have 2 labradors and the hair that goes with them!!.....I have a small hand held vac (Phillips) wasn't cheap but no good at picking hairs from the carpet!!

Anybody got any suggestions for an efficient but compact vacuum please that I can leave in the caravan?

We borrow the MIL's old Dirt Devil Handheld and it's very good with great suction - but pretty ancient.

Had a trawl round for you and found
THIS from Argos with good reviews (apart from the first one).

We just use the cheapest one on sale in Tesco and it works fine. Light as a feather.

We have a lab too, and we got a Dyson DC26 city vacum.  It is only 5kg, and we leave it in the van all the time. 

Cheapest place we found them from was Amazon.  Not the cheapest of hoovers, but picks up the dog hair brilliantly, it's very light and very compact

I got a small cyclone vacuum from pound stretcher - reduced to £20 (from £25 )  Great suck, although the pipes are plastic and a little flimsy.  We got two Jack Russells who lose hair all the time.  It picked loads up. 

We take over our caravan tomorrow, and will leave it in there.

Asda do a good light and compact one for about £20. Had mine ages. Good suction and light to carry

Reading this thread has reminded me of the 2010 caravan show we went to. Dyson had a stand demonstrating their new hand held vac. We had a bit of sales patter from the guy and was impressed with its performance. I politely asked the price to be told it was £170!!.......We walked away lol.
