turn it off to defrost it for a while,its probably got no thermostat so will run at full power and if its cold at night will freeze ,if you leave it it will get worse but cool less
our cooler ( a sainsbury one about 4 years old)has a ordinary lid as well as the cooler lid so you can remove the cooler lid to defrost it while keeping the contents cold but a towel or coat will do the same .
if you can use it to warm food it will speed up the defrost process but remember to put the switch or plug the plug back to cool
in spring our cooler will keep frozen food frozen its got no thermostat either
