I think that you can download radio Apps for the iphone. I have never used them so not sure how good they are but if they work it will increase your choice of speakers.

I never thought of that, that would make my choice a lot easyier!

Thanks for all the replies, given us plenty to think about!

Only thing is you need wi-fi to be able to use the apps!  Or you do the one i have downloade anyway

You should be able to pick it up on 3G via the phones provider unless you are out in the sticks

We bought one of these while we were camping last week.  It accepts most iPOD's but doesn't specify whether it accepts iPhone.

It's not particularly powerful and I am usually a bit of a Hi-Fi snob, but for £35 it does the job and let's face it there's not much point having a powerful system on site when we all go camping for a bit of peace and quiet.

Do you need wifi to operate the radio then or just to download the app initially?

I have a Roberts iDream, good brand, well under budget but whilst it will charge iphone and ipod fine, the sound is a little tiny. DAB radio is brill though.

We have a logitech mm50 i don't think they make it anymore but they have a more recent model.  It is a travel one comes with case and folds flat.  Runs from rechargeable battery.  It's fab we love it we carry it around the house, charges last ages.

Just about sub £100, digital radio and ipod/phone dock at amazon.
either battery or mains powered, for such a small unit it has fantastic sound quality ( I can be a bit picky). We bought one a few weeks ago for the kitchen but will be great for camping too. Would highly recommend it.
