We use a delonghi ossilating fan heater, really gets the air moving and love the safety of a safety cut off if it falls over, got ours on ebay as recon for £16 but package never opened!

Yes from all the messgaes i have received , sounds like a fan heater is what's on the cards, there are a few electrical clearance places around here , most cheaper than ebay so think it will be look around this weekend, that's for the info
We have a halogen heater that is confined to the cupboard as its not really that great at heating anything more than about a foot away from it. Our cheap fan heater has been a great companion every trip. Cool air in summer and nice warm heat on the chilly trips. We've got a cartridge gas one for non ehu, which is great for taking the chill out of the air at bedtime too.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.

Oh we have a halogen heater and I've found it great. It lights up the tent as well. It's never on through the night or unattended though. I suppose when cold, I do sit in front of it, so might look into a wee fan heater, will be checking out Home Bargains also! Still like my halogen.............
2 KW should be ok for most campsites but remember to not have it on while boiling a kettle, most EHU have a pretty low cut off and you will be forever tripping the switches.
You can get away with a 3kw, but for 19 quid in argos the delongi 2kw with theromstat is a no brainer, there is a slightly more expensive delongi which has a fall over safety cut out I think its 22.99
Personally I never use the thermostat on my heater while camping as it seems to cut out then not come back on until it's freezing, more important in my opinion to be able to select between 1kw or 2kw so that you can always have it on 1kw if full power is making you too hot. I've even had to have doors slightly open and fan heater on 1k to obtain desired temperature. If someone from Greenpeace saw me doing this I'd probably be strung up :)

We have never looked back since we bought one of these. No noise, no dry air blowing out, no flame to worry about. We love it.
I'm also a fan of low wattage oil filled rad's as they are so safe. I leave mine on low overnight. It's so lovely to wake up and not dread getting out of bed to go to the loo! I also warm my clean undies and sox on it before getting dresses in the morning!
We've never camped with EHU before (just because of availability), so have a 2kw gas heater which runs off a Campingaz 907 bottle. It was £25 off ebay last year.
It gives off a LOT of heat, but left for on for too long on a cold night does leave a lot of condensation on the inside of the tent.
