Sorry i am confused!! Am fairly new to camping and feeling fairly confident through reading all these wonderful threads!! however on my perusals people talk about clingons..
I really havnt got a scooby what anyone is on about could you please HELP!!!
Thank you x
Yes, they work. Yes, it's definitely worth getting some!
We camped for the first time in our (second hand) Relum Izmir last weekend. The door zip broke, and we would have had no other way to close the door. Luckily I'd bought 4 large clips that arrived in the post that morning!
I know a lot of people recommend keeping them in a 'tent repair' kit - they can be used for so many things, eg a guy rope getting ripped off in high wind, or perhaps closing up a hole in the tent. Some people use them to attach guy ropes to tarps.
I got mine on eBay, and they weren't expensive. I think you can get them from quite a few places.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Used mine in anger last w/e putting additional guy lines on my gazebo. Which stopped it flying around nicely!
(Yes, I know they should be banned from campsites and ceremonially burnt, but it was Scout Family Camp w/e so we needed somewhere to sit around the fire pit in the rain... )
I've just ordered a similar clip called a Holdon Midi and a bag of 25 cost less than £20 from UK Tarps.
I know it's a lot to buy at once but I have friends and family who camp too and there are also uses in the garden for holding tarps covering stuff in the winter!
Just got an update from the Holdon company in Sweden and it seems they are Clingons, which are available from www.clingons.co.uk but I think my deal at the uktarps.co.uk was better.
I was at a site recently and was pitched next to a CC member of 35 years, who to be honest was a bit of a know it all,but still a nice chap. He bought his daughter and her family a Monty as a combined xmas and birthday pressy for them. So mr know it all said there was only one problem with the tent and that was the wind could get underneath a bit by the door. So I duly fixed it for them with a clingon. Wasn't so much of a know it all after thet
