Hi we have just bought 2 nitestars and I find mine small - I can fit in but not much room to move - not thought about measuring it will have to get it out of garage and check it. I know the length is long enough but not sure about the rest, will have a check later and let you know.
I have two 450-squares and at 6ft 1 it's just about big enough for me. I haven't measured it but I recon the measurements must be taken at full stretch and from the top of the hood to the bottom. It's a different matter inside

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I've got a 450 Square and I find it tight around the chest.
------------- Love a lot. Trust a few. But ALWAYS paddle your own canoe!!

Funnily enough I'm in the exact same position. I bought two of these from Outdoor Megastore as a special order (they don't normally stock the 2011 model of the 450 mummy bag.)
The label on the inside said 80cm wide chest - and it was 70cm. The foot area was 40cm instead of 50cm and the length was about 210cm (10cm shorter than advertised).
I took them back this morning and they agreed that they were smaller than they should be. I've swapped them for 2 Nitestar 300XL Squares which are nowhere near as warm but they are much bigger.
Guess what? The actual size of the XL is smaller than it says it should be! They must be made by a fisherman
Impressed with Outdoor Megastore's 'no quibble' exchange though - my thanks go to Nikki.

I've recently bought a 450 sq, 30 sq, and three 350 mummies and my 450 sq does seems quite slim. I've not measured it but I was expecting it to be wider.
------------- 2 adults and 3 children.
Previously Vango Diablo 900, Khyam XL excelsior and very poor quality vango infinity 800. Currently a Very happy Outwell(best quaily I've seen) Michigan 8 owner. Happpy Dayz
Thanks for the comments. I decided to take the it back and swapped it for a 300XL which is huge in comparison.
As a side note, I have used Vango gear for about 35 years and so when I was updating my kit recently I went for a brand I thought I could trust. I have to say that the quality of their latest stuff is a massive disappointment against what I was used to.
The Icarus 500 I bought recently had bits missing, poor stitching and obvious patches in the material. I can't see the zips lasting too long either.
I also got a few other bits and pieces (all made in China) and it all feels a bit "cheap and nasty".
Its a shame some of the newer models seems to be slipping I must say I have a tempest 300 and a nitestar 250 and love both of them. I haven't had any issues fitting in I'm 6 ft 1 in glad you sorted it out
Hi, I had exactly the same problem last year. it was nowhere near the measurements, felt tight and not long enough. I sent it back and the replacement was just the same. In the end I bought a Snupgpak and it's fantastic.

Just a quick update - I went away at the weekend (to the only place in the country without sunshine as it happens!) and the 300XL was spot on. It was a little too warm when zipped up (but then I would expect that in June) but it's finally something from Vango that is up to the standard I was hoping for.
