thanks everyone, thats brilliant (and funny) info from everyone.

Due to everyone's helpful advice on this forum we should survive our first camping trip. I am becoming rather worried how addicting it is not even been on a trip yet

A lantern for ambient light but also a decent torch for when you need to find something at the bottom of a bag!
Also, a decent tin opener that stays with your camping kit, do not rely on remembering to take the household one with you, you will forget.

Hi
It is very addictive. So is this site. My essentials are, porta potti, good 3/4 season sleeping bag, warm clothes for cold nights and good lighting.
You'll get loads of good advice on this site, it's brilliant!
