Just been to my local Tesco's on the hoover bag hunt and brought some remote sockets as on sale 2 sockets for £9.50 my idea being I could turn light off from my bed without the need of turning it off in the main tent area then have to torch it into bed through two zipped doors (I do consider myself as a bit of a glamper)
On arriving home I thought what can I test them on! So as I put the kettle on I though thats an idea. I plugged it in with the kettle switched on and the socket as off went into my front room and through 3 walls and other end of the house I pressed the on button and hey presto a boiled kettle! Will deffo be taking my leccy kettle now! not only can I turn my lights on and off I can boil the kettle from my bed!
what a cool idea!!!!!! we have these and use one for the light, and the second one lives in the spares box! i have always taken an electric kettle and always got the kettle ready to be switched on in the mornings so i only have to pop into the porch and turn it on............... now i don't even have to do that!
this is why i love this site!!!!

That could be loads of fun on a meet ! If everyone has these things you could turn everyones lights on without getting out of your bed. and listen to the furore you have caused !!!!!!!!!! lol

LOL yes you could because they do pick up other remotes signals, my 10 yr old daughter has one in her bedroom to turn the light on and off as she has a high sleeper and has programmed buttons 1 and 2 to turn the lights off downstairs, little monkey!
I like the idea of turning everyone else's lights on and off on a site, would be brilliant fun I might just try it next time I'm away - and write about the resulting chaos in my blog!

But, if your remote works on their lights, won't their remote work on yours??!!
