I am thinking about upgrading our blue plastic folding picnic table to something a little more stable non slip and comfy. I'd like to be able to use the chairs at other times as well and not just for dining so they need to be quite comfortable and have arms. The other complication is that my children are 5 and neArly 3 and they seem a bit little for many table and chair sets. Packing Space as always Is a consideration.
I have seen an outwell rupert table with 4 Goya chairs for £99 on sale but the table has a canvas top and some reviews have said it's a bit wobbly.
Any reccomendatons greatly received. It very difficult to judge this sort of thing from a few online pictures and not many places neAr me have a variety of tables on show.
After lots of debate we have decided to go for a folding chair/table picnic set (aluiminium rather than plastic) plus some folding chairs on the grounds that none of the folding shairs are at all suitable for children at the table and we also need somewhere they can draw, play games etc. It does make for more stuff in the car but he childrens folding chairs are very small.
So no help really. we will probably change our options when the children (now 8, 5 and 2) are bigger and can sit at chairs at the table.
We bought a set of table and four stools from tesco last year the table is great but with two teenagers when used with the stools it's a liitlr cramped so might be better for younger children. We use the table as a table and the stools as footstools now!! Good thing about it is the stools all fit inside the table when folded up so takes up little room.

We had problems with the picnic table with attached chairs as we are quite tall and not as slim as I might like to be. We bought a table with two benches, the benches are free standing so one end can be closer to the table and as we are 5 the smallest one can perch quite comfortably on the end. The legs fold on the benches and they slot into the underside of the table then the table legs fold creating a quite nice flat (4-5inches) packable area. It fits into the middle well of our trailer tent.
Now the problem is a can't remember where I got it but a google search would probably flag something up.
Most of the sets have the same level seating and most are stools, don't know if you have seen this table, you basicly split the levels of the table to different heights if you wish, seperate them etc heres a link with some specs.
The folding picnic tables make good coffee tables as well to put the wine on when the kids have gone to bed, fold out the stool legs but leave the seats tucked under the table.
This type but I can't find a photo of what I mean.
Not sure links working on previous post. So copy and paste this.

Hiyas, i would say go with seperate table & chairs. Go Outdoors have 50% sale on hi gear stuff at the moment ...maybe something suitable there. We have the 6 in 1 colman table...havent used it yet but as youlbury says it can be used as 2 seperate tables at different heights, there are connectors so both tables can be joined & they can be side by side either way. We bought it because we wanted a slimline table & this fits the bill plus so many more options.
