Yes either and a satellite receiver if you go for a satellite dish, but washing powder won't work very well, try an aerial instead.

Have been  trying to sort my sat tv out lately  and if you are after a full cheap set up B&Q do some kits that look just the job.

Do you want to bother going down the satellite route or just use the Freeview service on the TV (via aerial)?

Aerial wise, perhaps have a nose at this recent thread here

if you want tio use the tv's tuner you need a bog standard small TV aerial if your in a decent position.
if you want satellite you need a decoder and dish to plug into the TV.

Freeview (down your aerial)is easiest if theres a blooming signal ,satellite (also known to some as freesat) has far more channels but they involve setting up with a compass as the signal is more line of sight

There's a knack to setting up a satellite system but it's something that can be practised in the garden at home and once you know how to do it, it'll work on any campsite (unless there are too many trees in the way).

A normal-TV-via-aerial system also has a knack and is harder than it used to be because now analogue signals are being switched off, the old "keep moving the aerial until you see a decent picture" doesn't work any more. You really need a compass and need to know where the local TV transmitter is.

So they're both a bit fiddly but at least with the Satellite, the Satellite itself is always in the same place so you know what direction you should point the dish in.

Loads of info on this site:
