When we go away we (or should I say I) like to have a break from cooking so I am not that fussed about the idea of buying one of those double burners with grill bottle and stand. All we need it for is a bacon breakfast or cooking something from a tin. A suitcase stove is fine for us for 90% of the time but I do have my little bluet gas stove as a back up if I need two burners though. Price wise I find if you box clever and buy at the right time you only need to pay an average of £1.00 per can of gas.

it depends how much room you have and how often you use them. They are by far the most expensive way of cooking. They are convenient though. if we are away for a weekend I'd use them but longer than that id use the bigger one. There are four of us and we would need to take 3 tins at least for a weekend

We are a family of six and have both, but to be jonest the double burner and grill stays in the shed most of the time. Only really take it if I know I'm going to be doing a lot of bulk cooking.

The smaller ones take up less space, are more portable, tend to heat much quicker, and when the kids were younger I felt they were much more stable. For us the benefits far outweighed any additional cost of gas.
