so I am always looking to upgrade or add stuff. I'm always on ebay checking it out. So in november I saw an ad for tent and camping equipment. It listed all the stuff and there was a lot and finished by saying selling due to emigration. I was a poor ad really. they could have made more of what they were selling. Anyway to cut a long story short, I won the Auction at £122 and I think I was bidding against the sellers really, not that I mind. So After checking out the stuff and keeping what I need I have sold the rest in dribs and drabs (but waited for the warmer weather) and the account now looks like this

paid out £122

stuff sold so far £380

stuff kept, quite a few thing that cost between £5 and £30, you know plated cups kids sleeping bags power transformer etc

big stuff kept     Outwell Virginia 5

Oh happy days

Oi! Stop showing off, Col! Or I'll have to bore you to tears next weekend with my E-bay skills ;-) That little electric coolbox you passed on thanks to your bumper haul was great...right up to the point it ran my battery flat! Am now the proud owner of a 3-way 45L :-)

Seriously though, that's good work with the job lot! Have you got a bit more space in the garage now? Which outfit are you bringing at the weekend? Outwell or Cabanon?

Selling goods on Ebay has it's advantages as the advert goes out to a wider audience but it's when you come to pay the final valuation fees I find that I'm not so well off as you thought I was. I know that Ebay has to make a profit in order to operate but I find that it's a really good place for buying but not so good for selling.

eBAY final value are only 10%. Nothing on the planet offers the coverage eBAY does for so little money.

Well done you!
At the end of the day, second hand stuff is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it - sometimes you end up making a good profit!

yep,I've been doing exactly the same for the last couple of years. Bought a "small job lot of camping/caravan accessories" last month from a seller 2 miles away. Paid £30 and sold for £200 and I kept the electric cool box and chocks for the caravan. He just took one pic of everything in a heap. When I saw what I'd bought I was very pleased.
