We have just bought a new Lunar Quasar 546 with a thetford fridge. We have had a variety of problems with it, from under-cooling to overcooling and I wonderd if anyone else has had similar problems. On our last trip we cooled it at home and then hooked up to the car and changed the setting accordingly. When we got to our site, 3 hours away, everything in the fridge was barely cool. I was not amused that my Becks in particular was lukewarm! So we reset the fridge and it started to cool. This time though it really overdid it and froze everything - including the beer! We put it down to its lowest (warmest) setting and wedged the door open to let it warm up a bit. That worked until we closed the door and everything froze again. We have checked the manual to make sure we didn't have the settings back to front (ie warmest and coolest) but we don't. We've had to throw away all our salad as it doesn't cope well with being frozen and I have lost several bottles of becks as it loses its fizz when it freezes. Clearly this is an issue of catastrophic proportions! Any help appreciated.

If this is a new van I would get in touch with your dealer and ask them to get this sorted out for you.

Having warm beer is not acceptable!!!

It seems that thetford are having problems at the moment with faultly heat exchangers being contaminated with rust from there dutch supplier this stops the coolant from moving around the pipes so it will sometimes work sometimes not How ever thetford are exchanging these fridges contact them direct it will be quicker than using your dealer
