We've just bought a Cadac 2 Cook Supreme but we're a bit worried about the lid.  There aren't any stays or supports to hold it in place when the grill is in use so a gust of wind could either topple it backwards and either break it or cause the whole unit to fall over, or forwards onto the grill, potentially knocking a pan of boiling water off the front!

Does anyone use this model and if so, have you had any trouble with the lid when cooking outside.  It's marketed as a camping/outdoor grill so it's obviously been designed with outdoor cooking in mind.  Strange that the lid has no way of being fixed in place when upright....

Hope someone can help with advice or suggestions.....

you could probably adapt it quite easily although you might need to secure the unit down somehow if its breezy/windy.

maybe you could use 2 wooden steaks (or similar) both driven deep and firmly into the ground, right behind the stove (lid rests against), then using bunjee cord secure stove lid and legs to the extra reinforcment.

cheers.

Thanks Graph.....

Great diagrams!

We were considering something similar using windbreak poles but the bungee ropes are a good idea.

Also toying with the idea of putting some hinged lid stays inside the lid, although that would probably invalidate our 2 year warranty.
