Similar to Jeff,I built one many years ago(..whilst working at a place,where I could.. *ahem"..borrow most of the materials/fittings..) but unless you are after a bit of a "project",I'd probably do as Jeff suggests and look into getting a ready made one..

Probably not the best time of year to be looking but check out the Free ads on here or ebay/similar...

Of course you can build your own trailer your only doing what the other manufactures are doing but built to your spec and needs .just make sure you use the right hitch and suspention for the job intended . The police do take dodge unsave trailers seriouly . So keep in mind what you intend to use your trailer for ie if your just using it for relitively lite camping gear or could you end up moving funiture rubbish building materails

As ive seen on here people change the original use of a trailer some could affect the handling

That is a very good point..

..I can understand how tempting it would be and how the finished item would solve a lot of problems..but I've never really been comfortable with the approach,where someone takes a small wheeled,3'x4' light duty camping trailer and ends up fitting it with 2' high plywood extension sides,along with a roof box and/or cycle rack!..

(..I don't mean to get in a slanging match with anyone who has done the above..but just how any "factory built" camping trailers,do you see that are taller than they are wide..??  )
