It is a quite time consuming to pack away our Vango Nevis cos the tent bag is so small. To be able to get it back in the bag supplied requires multiple attempts at folding and re-folding, and still it doesn't fit!
Why don't they make the bags bigger to make the packing up quicker? I know that a small bag takes less space in the car, but it is not just worth the time involved even in calm weather, not to mention windy or rainy situations.....
We simply pack our Outwell tent into its bag with loads of extra space and then pack the poles and pegs separately.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
I'm always far too excited to get the new tent out to remember how it was packed. We got a new tent this year and the first outing was in the garden during my son's birthday with my family there at the taking down stage. No pressure on my OH to get it back into the bag neatly then - they were all watching from the kitchen window with their watches firmly in view. In the end it seriously would not go back in the bag and we shoved it in the shed until such time he could do it again without an audience!! Do what we did and search packing tips for your particular tent or ask the question on here of other owners. Once we realised that ours needed to be folded lengthways (we had been trying to do it widthways) with the doors open to expel the air we got it into the bag first time, though you do have to ROLL and it is a bit of a squeeze! Good luck.
------------- If you're not on a fell your wasting your feet and for 2014 it's.......Feb Castleton Mar North Yors Moors; Apr Sutton on Sea; May Thirsk; Jun Clapham/Riverside (Lakes); July Wharfedale; August Crakehall; Sept Knaresborough; Oct Wirral Park/Clitheroe
I must admit I have never had any problems getting any of our tents back into their bags, getting all the air out and folding/rolling to the size of the bag is the key.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
