Personally I think you'd be better off looking at two singles. In winter, a neck baffle makes a big difference in terms of keeping warm air from escaping. A double bag has the inherent problem of gaps at the top, even if the two occupants keep still.
What sort of temperatures are you expecting to deal with?

I have recently bought a couple of Marmot sleeping bags for winter camping, as I feel the cold. I think they go down to -10 degrees. They are more expensive than say, Vangos but what price a good night's sleep? (were about £80.00 discounted at Cotswold).
For good reviews on performance sleeping bags try lfto.com, Trail magazine's website, as their reviews are very detailed and helpful on buying kit.

Hi
I was always cold, struggled to stay warm even with my mummy bag, thermals, blankets, hot water bottle etc... After much debate on what to do (buy new bags or airbeds) we opted for new sleeping bags. We ave just purchased Outwell Camper Lux sleeping bags, think we paid around £45 - but they are not a mummy bag tho. I can honeslty say i wish i had done it sooner - we have used them 3 times already this year and i have been as snug as a bug, ive even stopped using my hot water bottle (but do still take it - just incase) - it really does feel like im wrapped up in my duvet - i am a very happy camper now! Good Luck
Outwell Love xx

Another vote here for the Gelert Pod. I picked mine up for £37 and it's fantastic!
How does it perform in winter? Is it warm enough?

we have recently bought a coleman Hampton double, you can get it in single size also.
Its absolutely fab - very warm, very roomy for the two of us and I didnt even need to wear my fleece sleepsuit - which i always take camping lol
