I've towed before but no great distance, only locally and that was with my Dad's car.
Now when I tow with my Honda CRV, I can only actually see the trailer when I go round a corner, as far as I can see the legislation is that if my view is obstructed then I need mirrors to combat the obstruction, so I don't need any mirrors, is this right?
A little tip - attach a garden bamboo stick to a back corner so you can see it when you are towing. Otherwise you will spend all your time trying to see if it still attached! Also really helps when reversing - especially with a small trailer. Otherwise you'll find it has gone the wrong way when it's too late.
------------- Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....

I have had a look around and I might just get one of those Fresnel Lens - those you stick in the back window to give you a wide view, just for peace of mind.

P.S. Jeff we'll wave as we go past from the A74 towards Edinburgh on our way to campsite number 1.
If you use the bamboo cane trick, get one of those foam balls you can put on car aerials and stick it on the top. Makes it easier to see and stops anyone poking their eye out on it!
