Hi, I have just recently been given a parafin lamp and wondered if anyone knows what type and model, how to use (safely), or where to get instructions for the lamp? I wont be using it for camping but as I live in the country and prone to power cuts without warning it would come in handy. It's definitely not the type you can cook on as it has a rounded top and doesn't look like the upper top section can come off. I'm not even too sure of the make or model because after looking on the web they all look similar. It has Anchor written on a wheel that I presume regulates the supply of fuel. It also has a pressure gauge, a pump, lighting flue and is from 'Blacks of Greenock'. Looked on their website and couldn't find this particular lattern.

If anyone can help and point me in the right direction of any useful websites or if you know what type of lattern this is I would be much appreciated

Wow, so many responses. Thank you for all your posts, Valbarley just love your picture and Steve, a torch and bateries just don't have the right lighting or heating
