I am looking to get a roof box for my Honda CRV, I know that a trailer would be better but I dont want to get a bar put on and I want to be able to move the rack betwwen cars.
Can anyone suggest roof boxes
Thanks
Paul
------------- NEWBIE, only ever been camping once, bought the tent and looking for advice :)
check out pf jones website, its in salford though, dont know if theres one near to you, also bear in mind its easier leaving your bars connected to your box so would be a pain altering it for a different car.
Try roofbox.co.uk, we have just changed cars and they seem to be the cheapest around for a replacement bars/foot packs.
I would also recommend the Thule boxes, they are a bit more expensive but you really do get what you pay for. There are plenty of horror stories around about cheaper boxes opening at speed on the motorway!
With regard to changing between cars, you will need different foot packs for each car and dependIng on the width of each car, possibly two sets of bars.
Certainly with the Thule boxes it is easier to leave the bars on the car as the Thule's have a quick attachment system! To be honest I don't know anyone who leaves the bars attached to the box!
I have a full length, full width roof box on a Santa Fe that I'm selling at the moment I will be putting details in the sell section this weekend, let me know if your intrested
Buy as big a roof box as possible you will always find things to fill it with and with careful packing its amazing what you can fit into it. Ours also came from roofbox.co.uk, excellent service and good value products

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Another thumbs up for roofbox.co.uk from me, and like Arsenaldes says - buy the biggest you can afford! They fill up quickly with all the camping gear.
I was told if your going to leave it on most of the summer season your best to go for summit hardwearing like Thule or better. Im also sure the Thule bars can be used on different cars but dont quote me on that.
