Scifipaul..I wouldn't let yourself get bogged down over points like which burns hotter,lasts longer,costs less per kg(..or explodes the easiest!) etc..because as has been said,they are both pretty equal...
Personally,I'd opt for Propane(it's what we use)but as you're tenting,you may not be out camping when the temp' is that low anyway..in which case I'd probably just be checking out the local tip/bootsales/freecycle and just see which ever cylinder crops up...
