Morning all.... help please.....there are a load of us going to a site over the august bh weekend. We have 5 EHU's and 6 families in 3 tents and 3 caravans. We all require electric for various reasons so we need to share it out.

Has anyone use one of these splitters

Are they feasible? Could we safely run electric cool box in 2 tents off these - we both have EHU with RCD's build in.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

perfectly safe just remember if you split the one hookup to both remain in limits, the 3 of you

i.e split 3 ways its total 16 amp or 10 amp not 16 or 10 amp each, try screwfix for them to

Great thanks - I thought as much! Will split it across 2 tents rather than 2 caravans who draw more off with all their lights, cookers, fridges, etc. etc. etc.

How about one of these? http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/Industrial+Connectors/4+Way+Splitter+230V/d190/sd2430/p14620

I know the picture is the 110v version but they do a 230v version aswell.

in my opinion you could plug all 5 EHU's into the pillar and aslong as you don't use heating appliances everyone could use it without tripping it. :)

Cheers Matthew,

You could of course just save yourself the £12.95 and put both coolboxes in one tent?

Even better instead of spending £12.95 on a waterproof splitter why not just run a normal EHU from the pillar without any adapters to a tent then from there plug a 4 gang extension into one of the sockets on the EHU and plug everyone else's EHU into your 4 gang adapter using 16a to 13a adapters. Completely safe and everyone has power.
