I have inherited a Tilley Talisman MK6 with campinggaz 907 cylinder & regulator and black hose - date on it 1987.
I want to convert to run of calor gas, I have acquired an empty 7k calor gas butane bottle with push fitting, I understand I can choose a screw in type if required when I exchange for filling - is this correct? Also does the hose have to be replaced by a low pressure hose or can I use the orange high pressure type. the Tilley is a low pressure version which will run on butane 11" W.G. ( 28 M BAR). - so basically what I want to know is do I need low pressure hose or high pressure hose and choose what regulator to get once i refill?

Some places will swap,Go. swapped my 6kg propane for a 4.5kg butane no problem. You can run it fine off the high pressure hose as long as its in good nick but it's stiffer than the low pressure which may make the stove unstable. You can also run it on propane. For Calor butane, only the 4.5 kg has the screw in regulator.

I'd replace the hose as a matter of course, it's age makes it suspect from a safety POV

But other Calor suppliers may not be so accomodating - Link!
Yes, replace the hose and get a regulator for whichever size cylinder (either gas) you'll be using.

Economy-wise, the 7kg Calor cylinder makes the most sense.
You don't need high pressure hose for the stove, low pressure hose will be fine. That being said, the high pressure overkill won't hurt anyone.
