hi malpal, we recently opted for a portable satallite set up but before that we were using 1 of these ,directional jobbies,we found it very reliable in all but the weakest of signal areas (even then it managed to get us at least 1 watchable channel) , they are available on-line for about £25 Image 420 Caravan Aerial - UHF UK Digital and Analogue ours cost us £50 but it did come with all the mounting brackets, coax cable, poles etc

we only went for the sat' set up due to it being too gooda a bargin to miss ( my mate was givin it away coz he bought a newer ,better one)

Thanks real bus driver, we got one of those vision plus aerials. It cost us approx £40 with the poles. Have just used it this week and it was fine although there is a few digital channels we could not get but there were a lot of trees around so maybe this was the case but anyway think that we will get an extension pole approx £10 to see if this makes a difference.
Thanks again
