Hello all

I have seen quite a few posts regarding people who use vac bags to provide space for packing etc... which I understand for getting there...

... but how on earth do you use them for the return trip? I have visions of people taking their Henrys or Dysons on holiday, or do you ask the friendly warden to borrow theirs lol?

Many thanks

xxx

We take a small hoover to do them on return trip but also a battery/electric air pump will work, on the deflate bit! We use them for towels and bedding saves loads of space,

Yes, we have the campingaz 4d pump and we use the deflate nozzle to take air out as well.  Doesnt take as much out as our dyson at home does but still works a treat.

we occasionally use our 12v inflator/deflator, but it takes an age to get all the air out...now we mainly use an Air Hammer (a manual pump which can be switched to either inflate or deflate)...it deflates vacuum bags really quickly and effectively, plus comes in very useful as a silent emergency inflator if your lilo goes flat in the middle of the night...!!

I gave up on vac bags because they kept splitting and use these instead!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fold-Dry-Bag-pack-Colour/dp/B001692MRS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1312746198&sr=8-7

I just squash the air out and fold over the top several times and it works just like a vac bag!

I gave up trying the pump the last time and sat on them, it gets the air out nicely. I'm not convinced they were the wisest buy and I think a few stuff sacks will be better.

Hi

As Haribo1221 says, we find that however careful we are they soon start to leak making them very expensive plastic bags. Just about given up on them now.

i get mine from the £1 shop, so even if i only get two trips out of them it's not too much of a problem.

On this recent trip i had a significant hole in the big one and knew i would struggle to get bedding in the car with out it, so i popped a bit of tenatious tape over it, it was a hole the size of a 50p piece and it is still holding tight 4 days later - never would have believed it!
