I ordered the Sunncamp Baby Uno Stove from Amazon at the end of last week and received it yesterday in the post. My initial reaction is that it looks cool, is quite retro and dinky, although I'm not sure that I like that the gas cannister sticks out the back by a good third of the cannister.
My last gas cannister stove bit the dust a few weeks ago as the gas was not feeding through properly but then it was maybe five years old, and had seen a lot of use. I'm in the habit of flicking the 'engage' lever so that the cannister is released each and every time I use it, it's like a natural reflex now!
So the problem I'm having is this, the first time I engaged the cannister in place there was a loud hissing sound that went on for two or three seconds. Then when I clicked the Piezo the flames flashed all around the stove, from the gas cannister side as well. It was only a second but it scared the wits out of me! So I took the thing outside to the wooden picnic table and tried it out a few more times. The loud hissing and the flames don't happen every time, when the cannister engages properly the stove works fine. The cannister is lined up properly and facing the correct way.
I only have one gas cannister which is full, I'll get some more today to see if the problem is a faulty gas cannister. If that doens't work I'm sending it back because I don't want my teenagers making a cuppa with it - I don't trust it to engage properly each time.
Would you send it back?
