Yipee...managed to get some of the B&M solar fairy lights (with the little lanterns). Originally bought one set this morning but just stopped on the way home and bought some more for the garden. Reduced from £6.99 to £2.99 and I only knew that from reading the earlier post. Nothing on the shelf or packaging to indicate they were on sale.
I'm happy...now just got to convince my DH that they're a necessity.
PS How do you plan to attach them to the tent? We don't have any exposed poles...would it be ok to peg them to the canopy or extension?
Just tried my two sets of lights. One worked when initially switched on then couldn't get them to come on again. Charging them to try later. Other set one of the LED lights is out. We go away today to London then off camping on Sat...no time to exchange before we go.
I have mains fairy lights that go outside at Christmas, and want to use them on our next trip...can anyone see a problem with using electric ones please?
These lights do have a sensor so will swith off is there is any source of light. Try covering up the sensor, if the battery is charged, they should light up.

We use main ones and as long as they are the outdoor type I cant see any problem. I used some crocodile type clips. There is a pic and link of what i use earlier in this thread.
I used clothes pegs for ours and they looked fab :) Not as fab as tthe guy with lantern type ones on his gorgeous bell tent, with fab bbq.......
They did get lots of ooooo's as people walked past
