After a post the other day on here, we went to Outdoors Action in Blackburn and they are having a genuine 50% off sale on everything except tents.
As we are newbie campers we needed quite a bit of stuff and bought 2 vango chairs, electric hook up, Outwell 24l coolbox, large windbreaker, and other bits and bobs, all half price.
Get down there quick if you need anything!! The staff are lovely and helpful as well.
I feel sorry for the camping stores that are havimg to do 50% off sales in august to try and stay a float like outdoor action.
And places like braburn camping closing
and yeomans are having problems as well
Sad times ahead.
dragon you have a point - does anyone know if outdoor action is in trouble - off up there tomorrow - sounds callous but if you can get a bargain in this day and age needs must but what is the world coming to people are meant to be returning to camping - all I can say is help keep these shops alive if you can
I take your point, but surely spending money at these places that are struggling can only serve to help their cash flow, and therefore help them to stay alive? We asked actually why they had such a good sale on and were told as its nearly the end of the season, they were clearing out before new stock arrived.
Just to relieve your worries were defiantly not closing down, were defiantly still alive. We just wanted to have a big clear out of excess stock. Nothing more.
Outdoor Action are a great shop, my most recent purchase from them was a CampinGaz LumoGaz RPZ lantern, you can't even buy those in GO, not even available online, it's the model that screws onto the refillable CampinGaz cylinders.
Although I may have bought the last one that they had.
GO have a massive billboard on the same Street as Outdoor Action, probably no more than 100 yards from the Outdoor Action shop, something I would not be happy about at all.
If I am working in Blackburn I always pop into to Outdoor Action, there is free 1 hour parking within yards, which is great.
Glad to hear it Outdoor Action - we were very impressed with your store (and prices!!) and especially the service. The staff we encountered were really helpful and friendly, and one of the lads helped us carry our purchases out to the car.
You've definitely won a couple of new customers as we will definitely be back!
hi dont forget outdoor action and many camping and online shops have better quality and completly different stock to GO so if you dont support the well established camping shops in the country there will be a decline and the choice of products will be naff
by the way we all have to pay rent morgages and rate not like GO who are at present getting it free
