I can guarantee there will be rain As an antidote to this, I would love to browse round looking at camping gear..you never know what end of season bargains there are to be had
Can anyone recommend somewhere to go with a decent range of equipment/tents/trailers etc (not Southampton as we'd have a long drive). We'll be staying between Lyndurst/Brockenhurst?
we spent a great week in Brockenhurst last September. There is a camping equipment supplier in Lyndhurst I think they are called Leisure Fayre, they are on the road from the motorway into Lyndhurst. There is also a Go Outdoors and a Towsure in Southhampton which is not that far away which we visited and found to be very competitive on price. Enjoy your holiday hope the weather is good for you, thankfully it was for us.
The new forest camping centre used to be good (haven't been there this season tho!) They are at just past Moors Valley Country Park - great for walks etc.
Just a point to remember it is the Bournemouth Air Festival on this weekend so anywhere near Bournemouth or Boscombe will be heaving!
As cestrian has said there is a go-outdoors in southampton which except for lyndhurst is the quickest one to get to from where you will be . Also the west quay shopping centre and ikea are only 5 to 10 minutes away from go-outdoors . There may even be cruise ships in the docks which you can see on the way into the west quay shopping centre. Not that i am biased towards southampton or anything

Best not let my husband see this thread...anything with the word IKEA in make's him break out in a cold sweat
He won't drive into Southampton either, as a few years back, we had to do an emergency run to Towsure. Finding it and parking was a total nightmare, so it's now been blacklisted
The camping shop at St Leonards looks a good possibility, as we haven't been to Ringwood for years, but will take details New Forest Camping Centre as well...just in case we're passing
Weather's looking especially grim at the moment for Tuesday, and I've always fancied a nose round Salisbury, so might have to slip that somewhere into the conversation as we're passing on the way down
Thanks for all you're help...should be packing though, not typing
