Hope you don't mind me picking your brains.
Are these very popular ?
If you intended to buy one at all,
a) Would you rather barbeque your food on a stainless mesh which is easily cleaned or a mild steel mesh which is likely to rust when heat affected?
b) Would you prefer expensive, all-stainless mesh and frame or compromise and opt for stainless mesh and mild steel frame coated with heat resistant paint?
c) Would you say 'buggrit' and go for all-steel cheapo?
I only want to provide the optimum value. Can't compete with Mr. Sunshine.

lol at rob. I talk to myself also
Don't bbq very often but when I do I have a cobb so no help there at all for you. Just thought I would join in with conversation.
But I am sure anything you make will be just what we need. Love my delta pegs..

I was halfway through typing a reply but then thought I'd wait for more knowledgeable people to go first! For me the half and half option makes more sense, keeps the price down a bit at least.

Commercially I would plump for a quality item that will last and sits more at the top end of the market. There's enough cheapo stuff out there at the moment which are essentially semi-disposables so the competition at the bottom is fierce and

I know what you mean. This won't be the cheapest but I think I can make a good quality item at a reasonable rate.

That's good. You could do worse than looking at Kampa grill accessories as they consistently get good reviews

Our grill for using over campfires is a shelf from an old oven - high gauge stainless steel, so very sturdy. Works a treat and available free from any Council tip.

Personally, I'd choose all stainless steel. How many of us have chosen the cheap option and used it once or twice after the paint peels of and buckles before consigning it to the garden shed. I'd like to buy something that's fit for purpose and will last a reasonable time.

I would consider whichever packed up smallest.....afterall all my blooming delta pegs fill my boot
Seriously...I would opt for quality, as sharky92 says, if its going to be something I want to use for years there`s no point cutting corners. We already cart a dutch oven and a cast iron skillet with us ( OK maybe its not delta pegs filling my boot! ) and I`m hoping they`re built to last

I'm thinking of offering a choice between mild steel frame and all-stainless. Both models would have stainless cooking surfaces though. (If I have the sizes, it doesn't matter what I cut). As an accessory, mesh and an ash tray for coals could be fixed underneath if you don't want a fire or a site doesn't allow them.
