I was looking at getting a SIM (10 cm Gelert) but have just had a look at the the Outwell Posadas camping bed which seems like an excellent piece of kit.
Anybody any viewes on which is the more comfortable, and how do they compare in size when packed. Thanks in advance
I had the most fabulous sleep when I was camping last week!
I had one Outwell Posada single bed
1 SIM from Aldi on top
A Quishion from JML unfolded around the SIM to make a "quilted sheet"
An Outwell Camper Lux sleeping bag that I opened up so it was like a cozy quilt on top of me.
I have both. I started with the SIM and kept an eye out for a bargain campbed. Finally Argos reduced theirs to £18 from about £27 so I snapped that up. It's the comfiest bed I've ever had while camping, I often say I've been like Goldilocks, I've tried everything!
They don't have them in at the moment but Lidl stock them every so often. They were £15 I think. Aldi have them for something around the same price. Keep an eye out for an end of season bargain (have a look at the Halfords website too)
We had purchased a double Posadas camp bed and found it very uncomfortable as the bar in the middle was in the way all the time. We have resorted to a sim which is extremely comfortable. We use carramats underneath which keeps it snug and warm.

I also find the camp bed+SIM combo gives me a good night's sleep too I use a 7cm quality SIM (Alpkit Fat Airic now called Dozer). This means I can be totally flexible with the type of camping I do - if travelling 'heavy', both are packed but if it's a one nighter or I want to go 'light', my SIM will still give me the warmth and comfort I need, being the wrong side of forty
