Ca anyone recommend storage/shelving for clothes and cooking gear. We don't have a lot of room in the car but we do have a lot of stuff for a family of 4, so need something that is strong and roomy and packs down small.
We've got a collapsible cupboard which is like an aluminium frame and the material for the cupboard fits over it and shelves slots in. It weighs about 3kg and packs flat. I can't tell you who made it without emptying out the shed but when I bought it I went onto ebay and searched for 'camping larder' I think. It's brilliant though and the best thing I ever bought for the tent!
Hiyas, we use the callapsable crates too & found it a pain to lift them of one another so ... i adapted them like this :
I snipped around the edges but made sure i left the outer edge intact so as to still be able to push this into place to make the boxes rigid. The edges were sharp so i just sanded them until smooth....well saves lifting each box to get to what we need.
We did something similar, but I found if you removed the side panels instead of the end panels you are not compromising the rigidity of the structure, so it's less fiddly with the snipping and sanding. Simply unclip and remove one of the folding side panels.
We also got some four drawer plastic small wardrobe units from B&Q, one per person ... then no arguments! and all has to be kept in them ... so tidyer! All three fit into the rear of the estate, so no need to pack and unpack.
