Well what are your ideas on the Kampa Roastmaster...we are starting off camping again after a 30 year break !! So its more glamping for us....and thought of getting a roastmaster instead of rings and small oven.....
Can anyone advise what the temperature and volts/ watts on the Aldi oven is or might be? I can't find any details on it, and it seems to be only one temperature. Any help gratefully received. :) Don't want to blow a fuse lol
It looks like it has 2 standard 600W elements, making 1200W. Looks similar to the argos one I've got. Excellent oven, but be warned, never put anything in the oven until it's upto temperature. When the elements are warming the oven, hotspot are created which can set things on fire. Also ready meal containers can sometimes melt.
I've just aquired an old mini oven with 1 electric ring on top & thought this would take up less room in the car than lugging my gas stove & bottle...is it the done thing to use an electric hob on a campsite - I'm a bit worried about the length of time the ring takes to cool down & poss safety issues if it gets knocked over or god forbid one of us fall on it. Does anyone else use an electric hob on site?
I went to get one today, had a look on the box and it says 900 watts, with 2 heat elements. Got the black one looks good. Put it on for 15 mins to get rid of the smell, heated up very quick, outside got warm, but i guess that is the same with most of them, very light. Iam glad i got it , going to use it next weekend when we go away.

I can't remember what the wattage is (and I'm not opening up the trailer tent to have a look) but the temperature is variable with a thermostat that works very well. I'll agree that the outside does get hot but if it's positioned safely then it should not cause any problems. It would be the same if you are using it at home.
i also got one yesterday, they are 2 x 450 watt elements, and theres no way to vary temperature.i rung the helpline and found out that they get to 230 degrees, the elements do go on and off as temperature is maintained, hope this helps.ps grilled some bacon in mine yesterday (just to test it,honest).easy to clean aswell.ian
