Not sure already posted, but the Cadac Mini Chef is currently scanning at £15 in Tesco. Picked one up for my parents for Christmas (perfect for the two of them and they've just rediscovered camping). Was v impressed with myself for not buying one; we love our Cobb!

It's just a shame the mini chef doesn't have the barbecue mesh grill. It only has one double-sided cooking surface (one corrugated for grilling and one flat side for frying, etc...).

Can't really go wrong for £15 - it's still a great bit of kit.

I emailed Cadac a couple of times to ask them if I could buy the BBQ grill separately but they don't seem to want to reply to emails :(

i have been thinking about buying the safari but at this price i bought 2 of these instead.

Horsepills- i think the mini chef is the same size as the safari, i found a company which sells the safari lid(11.99) and bbq grill(10.00) I am going to order these and hope they fit ok! www.towler-staines.co.uk

Just bought 3 of the mini chefs from Tesco - one for me, two for eBay in a few months, lol!

Jacqfrost - I also looked at the bbq grills and yes, the safari chef is the same 30cm dia, so I assume it'll fit. Question though - would we need to invest in the safari heat deflector with the bbq grill? I'm a little confused over where to put the coals, with there being a few holes in the black cover.

not a 100% sure as I am a cobb cooker, but i thought the cadac is purely gas

pretty sure coals are not to be used, but think you will need the heat deflector and grill to get bbq type cooking.
