Hi we are looking for a double self-inflating mattress of 10cm thickness. I have seen the Skandika Isomatte which looks good but is expensive. Just wondered if there were any other cheaper 10cm ones out there?
Does the Gelert 10cm single one fix together with another single to make a double does anyone know?
Me and hubby have 2 single 10cm Gelert SIMS and unfortunatly there is no way to fix them together that we've found.
We normally start the night with them next to each other and by the morning my wiggly hubby is the other side of the bedroom pod - I have no idea how!!!
I bought a cheap fleecy mattress topper that fits over a normal mattress with elastic. I use it to cover both mattresses and tie the elastic up so there is no room for them to split. Works well for me
I use 2 long straps that were attached to my old damaged tunnel tent, cut them the right length, I put them around the 2 SIMs and "bind" them together.

Wanted to resurrect this post to see if anyone had bought one of the 10cm doubles and how they found them ? We're looking on eBay at moment at the 10cm SIM's for around £80 ) and wondered if anyone had any views? Thank u
Hi
You're based in Essex so you are spoiled with camping stores. Get in your car and go and lie on a few.
......
Doh! I just looked at the date when the question was first asked...lol

We have the Gelert 10cm mats and i can recomend them.Im a lot warmer sleeping on these than an airbed.Did the figure of 8 strap as recomended by pingvin and it works. Thanks for the fitted toper idea will try thay next time.
If you have an old double sleeping bag, or get a cheap one, put both sims inside it side by side and lay the rest of your bedding on top of the whole thing. Avoid the shiny material sleeping bags, as you'll end up slipping off.
Campernic... Its not often I learn something new in the Camping world but I can't wait to use your idea of using a double sleeping bag to put our two single SIMs inside. We sell a cheap summer double bag so I'm going to grab one of those, in fact I think I have one with a faulty zip, it won't open so that should be perfect.
Cheers

For those who might not have a spare double sleeping bag, it works with a double duvet cover as well. Been meaning to get out sewing machine to attach pillow cases to top so they will stay put :)
