Well I finally got my tent today ! although one of the bags with the tent poles in has some small cuts in it and the inner bag with the poles in was open. I just hope there is nothing missing or it has not been used before. I will be putting it up as soon as the weather allows to make sure everything is ok.
My advice to anyone who has an order with them is to keep calling them every day until you get it. I know they are trying to turn the company around but customers should not be treated like this.
Yesterday visited a garden centre we often visit and the Yeomans Store there had closed. I'm now wandering about other Yeomans stores sited in garden centres.
linsey22 is it the Montana 6 zip awning you are after? We ordered one from Outdoor Action for £149.99 free delivery and it came two days later. That was only last week so hopefully they will still have them in stock
Oh no, am absolutely gutted to read this thread! Our local Yeomans is in a garden centre and I love it. If that one disappears (which I fear it might) then we'll only have GO around here! I mean, they're ok, but Yeomans was a much nicer customer experience, friendlier, etc. And it's good to have some choice of suppliers... I hope we don't lose our local one!
I wouldn't be suprised to see a new company popping up fairly quickly in the spaces left if they do close stores - after all, if there's a customer base there...
It might be one of the other competitors or it might even leave room for a newcomer
Our local Yeomans store is fab we went in to see if they could price match the Montana 6 awning but they were out of stock Terry the manager advised us to go ahead and buy it as its such a good price ( £149.99 Outdoor Action) and was happy to answer any technical questions. We've had loads of stuff from them, always recieved great advice and customer service and never had any problems.
They have always been one of the good guys for service and advice - their staff seem to care about camping and the whole experience rather than just the sale
I do agree that the staff in the shops know their stuff and are really helpful but the service from Head Office is terrible. Most of the time they don't answer the phone nor do they respond to messages or emails.
We've finally got our money back yesterday after much chasing.
It is terrible that a well respected company seems to be having such problems. The trouble is, as has been said, they are not inspiring consumer confidence at the moment so it is doing nothing to help the situation.
I am not near any stores but have used their on-line service many times with no problems in the past. I do hope they get themselves sorted out, it would be a huge shame if they disappeared.
took me a lot of chasing but finally got my tent yesterday - havent looked at it yet as working away but looking forward to getting home to open it all up. You are all right - you have to chase, and chase, and chase but in the end it seems that finally Michael at HO has got me the tent - fingers crossed its OK. Doubt I will use Yeomans on line again
What a shame about all this. I've had loads from Yeomans, and they've always been great - perfect goods, delivered very fast and great value.
If they go to the wall it won't be good for camping in this country. There'll be a big hole in the retail sector and less competition. Their prices were always very good.
