Hi, I'm totally new to camping and I would appreciate some advice on table & chairs. Does anyone have any experience of the mendoza chair. I have seen a set of four with the rupert canvas table. Would love any help or advice (on everything)
Hi lydilou, The only experience I had of the Mendoza was sitting on one for ten minutes. Seemed ok but didn't feel comfortable enough for me to sit on for any length of time.
Fine for mealtimes though. Just not lolling around in, (I loll around a lot)
We went for Lafuma chairs in the end. They were the most comfortable we found for lolling around in. You can also get footstools for them. They are a bit low if eating at a table though, but if it is just you and OH that won't be a problem.
We have a roll up table which is great for space saving but can be a bit wobbly so also have a folding leg one, which whilst taking up a bit more space is more stable.
I would recommend you go to a store have a look around and a sit down
Thanks for the advice. Most of the time it will be me and my 8 and 5 year old going so was hoping to eat at table with them but also would like the comfort for me; also quite short on space in car.
Hi,
We have the rupert table and Mendoza chairs. We love the chairs but the table isn't very good. By the time we have four dinner plates( only melamine) and knives and forks on the table, the weight makes the fabric dip in the middle and we spend the whole time holding the plates with one hand to stop them sliding in the middle. We only use the chairs for eating and have different ones for relaxing in the evening, but they are a lot comfier than the stools and benches you can get. The chairs are quite bulky though and do take up quite a bit of room.
