Hi All

They are still available cost 72.5 delivered in UK !

The Easicool works on a total loss evaporative principle, the water evapourates taking the heat energy with it, in hot dry countries this method is still used to keep food cool.

You will notice a significant drop in temperature if you ever stand beside a waterfall, the water is attracting heat energy from the surrounding air.

Another easy test is damp a clean piece of cloth and then breath through it.

Depth of cooling can be up to 12 degrees or so below the ambient temperature.

To see how it works you could place a milk container in a bowl of water, damp a piece of cloth, drape it over the milk container and make sure the bottom edges are in the water in the bowl. Place it in the airing cupboard, when checked several hours later you will find.

1. the water level as dropped
2. the milk will still be cool

Thank you George,as i said i had one years ago,it was in an old Toyota Newlander

that i bought ,but i threw it out because i didnt know how it worked and fitted a fridge

i am tenting again now and think it better than having to pay for hook-ups as i like

my cider at any temperature so that is not a problem, also i can camp  anywhere

without the need for electric or ice blocks, very nice i reckon back to normal,

               Thanks Again for your help

Yeah we have one, but remember it is not a fridge don't expect to put your tinnies in it and expect them to be ice cold in a couple of hours, it wont happen! Great if you dont want hook up and absolutely no weight at all.

I used one in my previous camping life and it was great - you just have to use a bit of common sense.  An Easicool is not a fridge, so it will not cool warm things - put things in while they are cold and they will stay cold.  Remember to 'feed' it - on a warm day, especially if there is a breeze, it will probably want more than a cup of water to keep it going.  And you get best cooling if you place it where air-flow (and so evaporation) is good - put it in a breeze, but not in direct sunlight if you can help it - I used to move mine round during the day to keep it in the best place.  Eventhough my new Pathfinder has a 3-way fridge, I will actually miss my Easicool!
