I've used one in the past (a specialised covers one) and it was superb. I'll be buying another for my latest van.
Some say it's not worth it. Caravans are made to be outside. But my thoughts are that I have to store under a tree and hate the sap covering the roof that takes forever to get off. Also any help that you can give your van over a harsh winter has to be good.
It's also nice to clean the van before you put the cover on and have a sparkling van in the spring when you remove it.
If you do buy one, make sure you get one that fits well. That way it wont flap too much in the wind and scratch the windows.(I also put clingfilm on them). Needs to be nice and tight.

In all the years that I used clingfilm, not once has it caused any damage to the windows of any sort.
