I've used the Hi gear stove for 3 years now tiny and handy.
I would recomend a heat reflector i.e. corigated card covered in tin foil and tent peg or two, easy.
p.s. could never get the gelert converter to work, tried several times it always leaked, I could be doing something basically wrong.

We use a domestic 25cm frying pan, (Tesco) no Problems.  The great thing about the campinggaz twister is its heat output.  We use a folding heat shield to save energy when appropriate.  http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/product/Portable_Stove_Windshield

Did you use the small brass screw fixing between the plate that holds the aerosol cannister (both part of the Gelert kit) and the attachment point to the stove? Leaks without, but excellent with. Have found that works best with Campingaz cannisters, as generates a more stable flame.
We have a low height aluminium folding wind-shield off ebay that we use as a heat deflector/wind-shield.

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

without a doubt the above is cheap.  Having had a primus with piercable canister for over 30 years we noticed a significant reduction in boiling time, when having a brew up when we purchased the Camping gaz twister.

...But if you still want to risk it, Paul, Poundland have been known (seasonally) to stock a very similar item at a much lower price!

I don't know what to use then, I only need 1 pan not a set. I need one that ain't big so fits in my bag and also works fine ontop of the Twister Plus.

I'll only be cooking Eggs, Bacon and stuff like that.

Thanks,
Paul

The Poundland ones were available singly - the folding handle means other items ("Esbit"/Hexamethylenetetramine - or Hexi! - solid fuel folding stove, for instance) can be packed inside.

They also sold a small round frying pan with detachable handle, more suited to bacon and eggs!

Thank you.

I was thinking a frying pan, but because how big they are they would stick right over the edge, so the sides won't get that hot so the middle will cook more.

Could you give me a name of a cheep one please?

Thank you for all your help people

Not really cheap but will last the test of time - Trangia pots are all available singly and you can choose the material of construction and whether non-stick:

Thanks,

Would a 8.5" be fine on the Twister Plus?

Thanks

Last thing.. What is the law with using these gas stoves outside in the UK?

Thanks,
