A lump hammer and a gentle tap on each side of the rock peg normally frees it up to pull out easily but i can see the advantage of the lever although I don't think it is value for what it achieves. It is something my local blacksmith would know up in a few minutes for a couple of quid from odds out of the scrap bin.

MmmmmmmmmH - I think that is a bit below the belt and not called for! Yes we do know how to use a claw hammer including several long standing other campers who came over to have a go too! In 30 years of camping using a claw hammer to lever out rock pegs in the direction they went in, along with a heavy duty screw driver as extra leverage, we have never come across the state of the ground we faced in Norfolk after months of no rain. By the way my OH uses a claw hammer for trade purposes. But I guess until you come across a similar situation you may not believe it possible.... We weren't the only ones at the site that faced the same challenges. The reception was loaning out heavy duty tools to many people the weekend we de-pitched...
Sorry but didnt mean it the way you took it,all i can say is dont go back to that site..
We have one and it is worth every penny! We pitched our TT on an AWP just using the usual tent pegs and the plastic one inside for the eco-matting - so easy!
