Outdoor Revolution Awning Carbon-Lite Frames
I decided to purchase an Outdoor Revolution Vermont Porch awning in March 2011 and opted to pay an extra £90 for the Carbon-Lite poles to reduce the weight.
The first time I used it, and the weather was not particularly windy, two of the pins that locate through the canvass broke. As they are not covered by any guarantee I had to purchase replacements which have also subsequently broken and the “bayonet” connectors that lock into the front brackets have also now broken.
I have also found the Carbon-lite poles to be too flexible and bend easily when tensioning the rear leg supports & when attaching their annex to the roof support as required.
I wrote to Outdoor Revolution in May 2011 regarding my dissatisfaction and then I e-mailed them in December, I have still not received a reply to either correspondence.
It is the lack of response from Outdoor Revolution that has lead me to write this letter. It is my belief that the Plastic compound used for the corner brackets is not adequate and the carbon-lite poles are not fit for purpose especially when compared to the superior Isabella awnings they are trying to replicate and I would certainly not recommend purchasing this product.

Forget the manufacturer, your contract is with the supplier who sold it to you. The product is obviously sub standard, so return it for refund. The problem with trying to get refunds on faulty tents/awnings is that the supplier often tries to claim its storm damage or mis-use so you need to be firm.

You should have contacted the retailer straight away.
After 6 months, I believe the Sale of Goods Act now requires you to prove that the goods were faulty whereas, before 6 months, it is up to the retailer to prove that they weren't faulty.
I'm sure our legal eagle will be along shortly

I contacted my supplier (Lowdhams), & although it is over 6 months since I bought it the chap was helpful. He suggested I e-mail photo's of the broken parts & detail my issues & he would pass them onto the Outdoor Revolution rep.

I have been offered replacement parts to restore the CarbonLite frame to "new" or they will change the frame to steel.

I am now unsure which way to go, as I bought the carbonlite to reduce weight.

Any suggestions welcome
