If you want to try out satellite you can get analogue boxes for about £5 at car boots

A dish with universal LNB will do for analogue and digital so you can have a play at finding the analogue satellite (much easier)

One way of finding the digital is to turn the dish from south to east until you find the much stronger analogue signal then lower the dish a little and continue eastwards a few degrees until you pick up the digital

You can get Eurosport and several English language news channels on analogue as well as lots of free German channels(don't watch Vox late on Sat & Sun nights .)

hi all,

if you want to get technical its 28 degrees west of south to get digital satellite picture... hope this helps as i always use just a compass to line my dish up. i found the sat finder too much trouble and as mentioned earlier you have to remove the power from the socket after you have removed the sat finder as the box sends power down the cable to the LNB and this needs to happpen from a complete reboot.

jeff

ps i also lost instructions for sat finder last year and forgot how to use it...

no need for big expense on sat equipment, i went onto ebay and purchased a new 600mm sky dish, lnb, tripod, 20m of cable - all for £55.00 including post & package.

the sat meter finder from a local caravan accessory shop for £12.99 and i have only failed once to pick up a signal.

so i never go away without the above and the digibox from the house, give us all the channels you want whilst away from home.

always have a beer ready when a lock onto a signal.

We aso bought a sky digi box at a car boot for £4 bought the dish and meter from ebay. we usually attach it to a pole that replaces the jockey wheel, but have been caught out when our caravan was in the way of the signal, so on the next car boot trip we bought a camera tripod for £2. you can drill a hole at the base of each leg to peg it to the ground, so it wont topple over in the wind. We have used our at Brean, and belive me it is windy down there.
