It looks like it's got the wrong plug on it Mine only has the end cover on the end that fits into the van. Also, make sure it's fully wound out when in use, to avoid potential overheating. Personally, I'd rather spend extra money on a 25m lead, as 15m is not always long enough.
You may be better of with one of these Roller Mobile Mains. Just under £47 including p&p, possibly not what you wanted to pay, but you have 4 plug sockets and it`s free standing. It only has 15m cable length, which may be a problem on some sites. Although we have one and haven`t had any problems with the length to date.
i just picked up 2 20 metre reels with waterproof sockets but with normal plugs on the end for a fiver each so that silly inline trip must be solid gold
it looks like the rcd would be exposed to the weather,
and is this part ip protected when its hanging out of the exposed power point, i think i would prefere one with the rcd on the other end built in.
again it looks like the rcd was added as an after thought.
I wouldn't buy it, but the RCD is rated IP65 so basically weatherproof and it does have thermal overload protectionThey are made by Masterplug who are the UK branch of Nexus Industries,a chinese company and are widely sold by B&q,Screwfix and Toolstation so you cant describe it as a homemade cheepo, rather a factory made cheepo as are the majority of the other ones on sale for camping, nearly all are made in China with sub standard cable and cheap switchgear.
