Read somewhere that mothballs are a good way of keeping mice out of a caravan - and having bought some, and smelled them, I can certainly see why
But, if I use them, will my caravan stink so much it's inhabitable? I'm scared that we'd never get rid of the mothball smell; so think I'd rather put up with having to do a deep clean after each winter!

i read they do not work,i used to recommend them but not now.best thing to try is the sonic type.
the sonic ones dont work ,we have one in the loft plus 10 mousetraps and i can assure you if you turn the thing on you get more mice!
i think they think were protecting something they want and investigate
I have a battery powered 'sonic thingy' - but despite allegedly having a 6 month battery life, the darn thing has never been on when I've checked.
Unfortunately a traditional mouse trap isn't practical as the caravan is stored 10 miles away, and I can't get down to it as often as I would need to, in order to get rid of mouse carcasses!
I've even tried Mouse Mint - which is supposed to repel the little beasties; but can't say that I've noticed much success. Grrrrr............
