I've just tried some others that I bought at a bargain price, they look like very large fish pellets, NOT the type mention in this thread. They are rubbish. As soon as they start to burn through, they collapse and smother the flames and just smoke intil the fire goes out. So if you see this type avoid them. I will still give them a go in my Frontier stove, as they may work better with a draught.
One problem with the Aldi type, is that they give off a very greasy smoke, I burnt mine on a tripod, and the poles and chains were coverd in a thick black grease. But they do work well in an open fire.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
