Last year I tried a Quest deluxe moonchair and thought ooooh I would like one of these!! I then kept a look out for a bargain priced one and when finally did find a bargain they had sold out!! I decided to treat myself to one today so it should arrive on Thursday and I can't wait!!!! It will be fab to be able to sit in comfort in the awning or hopefully in the sun outside the tent :)

I have been eyeing up a moon chair as I found one that I love and I think is lovely and comfy, but the hubby is telling me that it takes up too much room and costs too much
I went for the Quest dekuxe XL as its so comfy & roomy! I don't like basic ones as find they dig into back of thighs after a while.
Yeh I just asked hubby what he thought (admittedly he was a llittle distracted at the time ;)) & he just said if it means u r happier then get it! I bought it personally though.....wonder if he thinks I'm gonna share it with him ;)

I've recently bought one, and found it gives plenty of protection if you site it back into the wind. It's almost like having a small windbreak behind you. But they are bulky, especislly the larger versions. I bought mine so my dog could sit on my lap without falling through the sides. Works a treat.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Yes it has!! I was a little confused at first coz it said large on box and the dimensions on label were different to ones on the website I got it from! I phoned them up and they said you can only get it in two sizes - medium and large (despite their website saying it was XL...go figure ;)) Plus was annoying as I bought a fold up table from them as well so I would qualify for free delivery and they have put the price up by £1.98 now so it now qualifies for free delivery without having to buy anything else!! D'oh!!
Anyhow the man on the phone said that there have been a lot of problems with some retailers selling moon chairs claiming they are Quest ones when in fact they aren't. Apparently there is a big investigation into it at the mo! I was just a little peeved off as I had seen the chair for less elsewhere of the 'large' size and assumed the one from them was going to be bigger than the large hence why went with them. He didn't offer me any money back etc just went on about how it is a genuine item compared to others and they will change the measurements on the site - it is just coz it is hard to measure it coz of its size!!
I am just going to enjoy the chair for what it is and hopefully be very comfy when away camping, also plan to use in the garden in between too!!
(sorry didn't meant to write an essay!!!)

congrats on your new moon chair...we treated ourselves to a couple of the Vango deluxe moon chairs last year and couldn't be happier...they take up a lot of room inside our tents, but they're worth it for the comfort factor...

I have a hi gear orlando moon chair and it is the best piece of camping equipment I have! DH laughed at me and thought it was a little extravagant when I wanted to get it - but he is converted and I have to make sure I get to it first. It is however very bulky and so it does take up a lot of room and for that reason I don't think we would have more than one - better for comfort than some chairs I have used at home.
I've just picked up my first moon chair in a closing down sale - Outwell, reducued to £20. Feels really comfy. Slightly lower, too, so I'll be able to sit and relax in my smaller tent without my head brushing the porch roof. The chair I had before digs into the backs of my legs if I sit on it for any length of time, so I can see that being relegated to visitor use. Now I just need to organise a camping trip!
We have 2, but not very impressed. I use mine when garden camping in the Nevada, but I cannot use laptop as the sides are in the way of my elbows. Also they are too reclined for eating in.
------------- Yes, the car is bigger than the 'van.
Mine just arrived! .. its huge!.. I have the middle size one.. it's lovely and comfortable.. couple of cushions chucked on it too! my whippet might claim it as hers tho!! .. I could easily have a siesta in it!.. not as soft as the Lunar (which my husband ordered by mistake).. the fabric isn't soft like the Lunar..
Is the Lunar comfy too? I thought after getting my one that the middle sized one would be fine but I am happy with my large too - I am looking forward to siestas and reading comfortably in it :)

Yes ..I was furious ;-) !! the lunar is very comfy and soft and squishy... but i dont like the metal digging into the back of my head... with the moon its all cushion.. and I dont feel like ive been sitting at the back wash of a hairdresser for ages!! I've still got it set up and both kids can fit on it and read their books!! .. lovely all rounder.. for me in the evening when kids are a kip.. for the dog during the day.. for the kids when its raining and want to watch a DVD!!

This made me giggle as both me and the hubby have moon chairs and we love them but so does our dog so I usually end up having to share but don't mind as she keeps me warm. The only downside is that they do take a bit of room up in the car,
