I've bought a few gas things, and by a few I mean basically everything! (stove, lantern, heater...)

I've read about the dangers of using gas powered appliances in poorly ventilated tents and I understand that completely.

So how much ventilation is needed? I'm looking to get an icarus 500 and those have the side and front doors... If I were to cook in the living area with both doors fully open or have the heater pointing towards us whilst we sat in the living area but have both doors open... would that be enough? Like wise with the lantern...

We had a similar tent and gas stove, lamp and heater. We used to sit in the living area at night with the heater on and never had any problems.

My advise is NEVER ever go to sleep with any of the gas appliances on.

Very good advice bobmel, make sure everything is turned OFF then check again.

The Icarus has mesh windows, so just make sure that one is left open and a door zip not fully done up - that will be plenty of ventilation.

 Remember that any doggey gasses will be at the bottom of the tent at the same height as your head when you go to bed, so make sure you have ventilation low down as well as higher up!
