Hiiiii.. Ive had my cadac safari delivered.. now I need gas.. what gas do I use?? do I need a hose and a regulator.. I have no idea what these things are
I'm used to using the small gas cans you pop into a single stove.... I'm confused!!!.. thank you in advance
We have a Cadac Safari Chef and use a 907 Butane cylinder with regulator - as used on standard camping cookers.
If you get this cylinder then this cover is a very handy item to go with it as most cylinders get bashed about, as when empty they are exchange items for refill at most good camp shops.
With an LP Cadac, you have the choice of gas bottles, either butane or propane, you will need a regulator, and a hose but regulators are made to fit the bottles, all will fit the hose so decide on your gas bottle first. If you have no existing bottle, then your local recycling depot may have one you can take for a nominal fee, you can then exchange this for a full bottle and you only pay for the gas.
Calor gas tends to be cheaper to use than Camping Gaz, but is not readily available in Europe. If planning to use the Cadac in very cold weather then consider Propane rather than Butane.
